  • Parents / Carers SEND Workshop

Over the last year the Local Authority has been working closely with Telford and Wrekin settings and schools to further develop their practice for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This workshop is to share key messages about our work, with parents and carers, and to develop greater confidence in delivery of SEN support.

  • Private Fostering

Some people think that Private Fostering is when you foster a child for an Independent Fostering Agency. It isn't.

Private Fostering is when a child or young person under 16 years old, or 18 years old if they have a disability, is looked after for 28 days or more by another adult.

If you are a great grand-parent, great uncle/aunt, friend or neighbour of that child, then you may be a Private Foster Carer. Close relatives such a parents, grandparents, brothers or sisters are not deemed as Private Foster Carers.

The NSPCC works closely with schools to promote and share the PANTS rule with all parents and children.

With the help of their friendly dinosaur Pantosaurus, talking PANTS is a simple way to teach your child how to stay safe from abuse.
